Marriage Counseling Services Across the Front Range

We help you move from disconnection to harmony and intimacy.

Feeling more like roommates than partners?

Whether you're caught in constant conflict, drifting apart, or stuck in patterns of criticism and withdrawal, disconnection can be painful and confusing.

You may find yourselves:

  • Arguing over the same issues without resolution

  • Feeling unheard, unseen, or emotionally distant

  • Experiencing a lack of intimacy and sex

  • Looking at each other and assuming ill intentions

  • Leaving things unrepaired

  • Worrying about the impact on your children or considering separation

Disconnection doesn't have to be the end of your story together.

Why Couples Counseling Matters

Healthy relationships create ripple effects.

When a relationship gets better, it doesn’t just help the couple. It helps the whole family system.

That’s why some of our work in couples therapy extends across generations.

Many of us grew up in families where healthy communication, emotional safety, or constructive conflict are never modeled.

Couples therapy provides partners with an opportunity to break unhealthy patterns and develop stronger, healthier relationships.

In that case, the work can be transformative.

Sometimes we’re not just helping a relationship—we’re helping build healthier relationships for the next generation.

And, you don’t need to wait until your relationship is crumbling to come in for help.

Many couples begin therapy to strengthen their relationship.

Your relationship deserves healing

At Colorado Relationship Recovery, we specialize in guiding couples from disconnection and negative patterns to harmony, passion, and intimacy.

Our training

Relationship Experts

Our Master’s-level therapists have various training in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT).

Our therapists reflect our core values:

Lifelong learners are passionate about guiding clients.

Constantly refine their clinical skills.

Ensure quality service – we might use an app to help coordinate work between sessions.

Exhibit professionalism.

How do we work together?

Since you’re open and vulnerable enough to seek help, it’s our responsibility to provide the best support we can.

Our process

1) Begin by scheduling a free 20-minute consultation. We'll learn about both of you and your relationship, as well as your goals, to find the best way we can support you.

2) Attend the initial session, which typically lasts 90 minutes. During this time, we continue to explore the patterns and dynamics between you two.

When we understand, we identify and name the negative patterns and cycles.

We also help you understand where specific reflexes that keep you stuck may have originated. Usually, these reflexes appear during times of stress, and they are learned behaviors or adaptations developed during childhood.

We identify your motivation to do something different and support you in overcoming them.

One way is for us to collaborate on a plan for you two to spend less time in your negative patterns and cycles. We help both of you practice repair when needed and remind you to be intentional about maintaining your connection.

One of our favorite relationship quotes:

"Intimacy is not something you have, it's something you do." – Terry Real

3) Schedule future appointments. Here, we assess whether your negative patterns and cycles are decreasing. We continue to encourage you to practice new ways of relating to each other and yourselves.

How long does it take?

The honest answer is that it depends.

Generally, we’ve found that couples who commit to at least eight sessions, with the first one being 90 minutes, reach a place where they have a stronger emotional and physical connection.

They also feel confident that they have a healthier way to handle conflict, and that they have the tools and know-how to implement it.

They are also aware of what makes each person feel loved and have a better understanding of each other’s triggers and vulnerabilities.

They also had time to heal emotional wounds and, when appropriate, begin rebuilding trust.

They are in a place where they feel like a team again and are open, compassionate, and collaborative.

Finding the right couples therapist

The connection you share with your therapist is important.

If you have time and are interested, we recommend watching each therapist's introduction video.

  • Read therapist bios
  • Learn about each therapist’s style and approach

If you’re unsure who might be the right fit, we also offer a quick therapist matching quiz below.

The quiz helps you find a therapist based on things like:

  • Schedule availability
  • Location preferences
  • Therapist gender

Our goal is straightforward: to help you find the therapist who will best support your goals as a couple.
